- Step 1: Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray. Set aside.
- Step 2: In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Step 3: Remove the saucepan from heat and add the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- Step 4: Divide the mixture into three equal portions. Leave one portion plain, add red food coloring to the second portion, and blue food coloring to the third portion. Mix each portion until the colors are fully incorporated.
- Step 5: Press the plain Rice Krispies mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form an even layer. Next, press the red mixture over the plain layer, followed by the blue mixture on top.
- Step 6: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
- Step 7: Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the top layer of the Rice Krispies treats. Immediately sprinkle with red, white, and blue sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
- Step 8: Allow the treats to cool completely at room temperature. Once set, cut into squares and serve.
