  • 4 pieces bone-in pork chops
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar for sweet caramelized finish
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for searing
  • 1 tbsp butter for richness

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Step 2: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Step 3: Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels.
  4. Step 4: Rub the brown sugar mixture evenly over both sides of each chop.
  5. Step 5: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Step 6: Add the butter to the skillet, allowing it to melt and baste the chops for an additional minute.
  7. Step 7: Transfer the skillet to your preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  8. Step 8: Remove the skillet from the oven and let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.
