Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar sweetness that balances the tart blueberries.
  • 1 large egg binds everything together.
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract adds a lovely aroma.
  • 1/2 cup milk for a moist cake.
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries the star of the show!
For the Topping
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour to create that crumbly topping.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar more sweetness to top it off.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened for a rich crumble.
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon a hint of warm spice.

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
  2. Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup of flour, baking powder, and salt. Set it aside for later.
  3. Step 3: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1/2 cup of sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Step 4: Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing well until combined.
  5. Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined. Gently fold in the fresh blueberries.
  6. Step 6: Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  7. Step 7: In a separate bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, softened butter, and cinnamon until crumbly.
  8. Step 8: Sprinkle the topping evenly over the batter in the baking dish.
  9. Step 9: Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Step 10: Allow it to cool before serving.
