Method
- Step 1: In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and granulated sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Step 2: Add the melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract to the yeast mixture, mixing well until combined.
- Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and ground cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Step 4: Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Step 5: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 6: Once the dough has risen, roll it into a rectangle (about 12x18 inches). Spread softened butter evenly over the dough.
- Step 7: Sprinkle brown sugar, crushed cookies, and additional cinnamon evenly over the buttered dough.
- Step 8: Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into 12 equal pieces. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish.
- Step 9: Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Step 10: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Step 11: In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls.
- Step 12: Top with additional crushed cookies if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
To keep your rolls fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. You can also refrigerate them for up to a week.
