Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk warmed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
For the Filling
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries chopped
For the Frosting
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp milk to adjust consistency

Equipment

  • Large Bowl
  • Baking Dish
  • Rolling Pin

Method

  1. Step 1: In a large bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the mixture and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy. Add the eggs and salt, then gradually stir in the flour until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  2. Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 16x12 inches). Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly on top. Finally, scatter the chopped strawberries over the filling.
  3. Step 3: Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish, cut side up.
  4. Step 4: Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffed.
  5. Step 5: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Step 6: In a bowl, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Add milk as needed to achieve desired consistency.
  7. Step 7: Once the rolls are baked, let them cool for a few minutes before drizzling with cream cheese frosting. Enjoy warm!

Notes

To keep your rolls fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. If you want to keep them longer, you can refrigerate them for up to a week. Just reheat them in the oven for a few minutes to bring back that warm, gooey goodness!
