Ingredients

For the Maple Pecan Glaze
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup adds sweet flavor
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans for a crunchy topping
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard for tanginess
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce adds depth
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for glaze consistency
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
For the Salmon
  • 4 fillets salmon fresh and flaky
  • Salt and pepper
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Small saucepan
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Step 2: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, olive oil, and minced garlic. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped pecans.
  3. Step 3: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the salmon fillets on the baking sheet, skin-side down. Season them with a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
  4. Step 4: Brush the maple pecan glaze generously over each salmon fillet, making sure to save some glaze for later!
  5. Step 5: Place the salmon in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through.
  6. Step 6: In the last 2 minutes of baking, brush the reserved glaze over the salmon for that extra burst of flavor.
  7. Step 7: Once done, remove from the oven and let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

Leftover salmon? No problem! Store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can enjoy it cold in salads or reheat it gently in the oven.
