- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: In a 9-inch round cake pan, melt 1/4 cup of butter in the oven. Once melted, remove the pan and sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the melted butter. Arrange the peach slices on top of the brown sugar in a circular pattern.
- Step 3: In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- Step 4: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Step 5: Gently pour the cake batter over the arranged peaches in the pan, spreading it evenly.
- Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Step 7: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, carefully invert the cake onto a serving plate so the peaches are on top.
- Step 8: Slice and enjoy your delicious Peach Upside-Down Cake warm or at room temperature.
