- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until well blended.
- Step 3: Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Mix it all together until you have a smooth batter.
- Step 4: Pour the batter into a greased baking dish, making sure to spread it evenly.
- Step 5: Carefully pour the boiling water over the batter; do not stir!
- Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is set and golden brown.
- Step 7: Serve warm, drizzling butterscotch sauce on top.
