- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a square baking dish or line it with baking paper for easy removal.
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the plain flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir until everything is well mixed.
- Step 3: Pour in the melted butter and vanilla extract. Mix until the dough comes together and resembles coarse crumbs.
- Step 4: Take about two-thirds of the mixture and press it firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form an even base.
- Step 5: Spoon the wild berry jam over the base, spreading it evenly to cover.
- Step 6: Crumble the remaining one-third of the oat mixture over the jam layer, ensuring it's evenly distributed.
- Step 7: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Step 8: Once baked, remove from the oven and allow it to cool in the dish for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing into squares.
- Step 9: Enjoy your delicious wild berry jam slice as a snack or dessert!
